Our History
Gymagic Gymnastics has deep roots in the Minot community, with a history that reflects the dedication of families, coaches, and athletes who love the sport. In the early 1990s, Minot was home to two gymnastics facilities: Gym Dandy’s, which had been around since the early 1980s, and Minot Magic, which began operating around 1990. In the late 1990s, these two gyms merged to form Gymagic Gymnastics, combining their resources and passion to create a stronger, more unified organization serving Minot and surrounding areas.
Under the direction of Steve Carver, Gymagic continued to offer diverse programs, including recreational classes, competitive USA Gymnastics programs, and Minot High School gymnastics. However, Gymagic's growth was limited by its rented space on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, where each summer, the gym had to relocate for up to six weeks to make room for the fair—posing challenges for both athletes and program continuity.
After years of dreaming, planning, and community support, Gymagic realized its vision of a permanent, year-round facility. In the summer of 2017, Gymagic moved to its current location on 18th Ave SE. Today, our state-of-the-art facility stands as a testament to the dedication of our community and our ongoing commitment to empowering young athletes in Minot and beyond.
